About Riverside Timber Craft
Are Riverside Timber Craft products made in Ireland?
Yes. Our timber furniture, floating shelves and fireplace mantels are handcrafted by us in Corr na Móna, Co. Galway.
We're a small Irish family business and manufacture our timber products in-house, combining traditional hands-on craftsmanship with modern workshop equipment.
Do you make furniture to order?
Yes. Many of our products are made or finished to order.
Alongside our standard collection, we can also create custom timber furniture, made-to-measure floating shelves and bespoke fireplace mantels, depending on your requirements.
If you have an unusual space or need a particular size, contact us and we'll be happy to discuss what is possible.
Timber & Natural Characteristics
What timber do you use?
Our shelves, fireplace mantels and timber furniture are made using solid Douglas Fir, selected for its strength, character and distinctive natural grain.

Will my timber look exactly like the photographs?
No two pieces of real timber are identical.
Natural variations in grain, knots, colour and texture are part of what makes solid timber unique. Your finished piece may therefore vary slightly from the photographs shown on our website.
These natural characteristics are part of the beauty and individuality of genuine timber.
Are knots, cracks and splits normal in solid timber?
Yes. Knots, grain variation and small natural checks or splits can occur in real timber.
Timber is a natural material and can continue to respond to changes in temperature and humidity once it is in your home. These characteristics are normal and help give each handcrafted piece its individual appearance.
Sizes & Made-to-Measure Orders
What sizes are available?
Our floating shelves, fireplace mantels, console tables and other timber products are available in a range of standard sizes.
The available dimensions and options for each piece can be found on the individual product page.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. We offer made-to-measure options on many of our products.
If you need a specific length, depth or other dimension, contact us with your requirements and we'll let you know what we can make and provide a quote where required.
Can you make floating shelves to a custom size?
Yes. If our standard sizes aren't suitable, we can make custom floating shelves to suit your space.
Send us the length, depth and other requirements you have in mind and we'll advise you on the available options.
Can you make a fireplace mantel to my measurements?
Yes. We can produce made-to-measure fireplace mantels where you require dimensions outside our standard options.
Send us your measurements before ordering and we'll let you know what is possible.
Can you make furniture for an awkward or unusual space?
Absolutely. One of the advantages of making our own furniture is that we're not restricted entirely to standard dimensions.
If you're trying to fit a console table, floating shelf, fireplace mantel or other timber piece into a particular space, contact us with your measurements and requirements.
I'm not sure about my measurements. Can I contact you before ordering?
Yes, and we'd encourage you to do so, particularly when ordering something made to measure.

Production & Dispatch
How long will my order take?
Standard products have a dispatch time of approximately 3–5 working days .
Production times for custom or made-to-measure orders may vary depending on the item, dimensions and work involved.
If you need an item for a particular date, please contact us before ordering.
How long do custom orders take?
Lead times for bespoke and made-to-measure furniture, shelves and mantels depend on the individual product and the work involved.
We'll advise you of the expected lead time when discussing your custom order.
Delivery & Collection
Do you deliver throughout Ireland?
Yes. We deliver our products throughout the Republic of Ireland.
Delivery charges depend on the size and type of product being ordered. Larger or longer items may require different delivery arrangements from smaller products.
Available delivery options and charges are shown during the ordering process where applicable.
Can I collect my order?
Yes. Collection is available from us in Corr na Móna, Co. Galway.
We'll let you know when your order is ready for collection and arrange a suitable collection time with you.
Do you deliver outside the Republic of Ireland?
If you require delivery outside the Republic of Ireland, please contact us before placing your order with your location and the product you're interested in.
We'll let you know whether delivery can be arranged and provide the applicable delivery cost.
Floating Shelves, Mantels & Installation
Do your floating shelves and fireplace mantels come with fixings?
Please check the individual product description for details of what is included with your chosen shelf or mantel.
Different designs use different brackets, mounting systems and fixings, so the product page will give you the information specific to that item.
What wall fixings should I use?
The correct fixing will depend on your wall construction, the product being installed and its intended load.
As wall construction varies considerably from property to property, you should always use fixings appropriate for your particular wall.
If you're unsure, we recommend seeking advice from a competent installer or tradesperson before installation.
Finish & Care
How should I care for my timber furniture, shelves or fireplace mantel?
Solid timber is relatively straightforward to care for.
Wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid soaking the timber or using harsh household cleaning products.
Clean spills promptly and avoid placing extremely hot or wet items directly onto timber furniture.
Because timber is a natural material, prolonged exposure to excessive heat, moisture or significant changes in humidity can affect it over time.
Custom Orders & Returns
Can I return a custom or made-to-measure item?
Products manufactured specifically to your measurements or personalised requirements may be treated differently from standard products.

We strongly recommend checking all measurements and specifications carefully before approving a made-to-measure order.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
If your order has been damaged during delivery, please contact us as soon as possible after receiving it.
Where possible, include photographs of the packaging and the damaged item so that we can review what has happened and advise you on the next steps.
