Riverside Timber Craft Is Back – Handmade Furniture, Shelves & Mantels in Ireland
We're back. And we've missed this.
If you've visited Riverside Timber Craft before, bought one of our handmade pieces, left us one of the wonderful reviews we've received over the years, or recently wondered where we'd gone, we have some news.
Riverside Timber Craft is back, the workshop is open, and we're taking orders again.
And if you've only just discovered us while searching for handmade furniture in Ireland, rustic wooden shelves, floating shelves, fireplace mantels or made to measure timber furniture, welcome. You may just have found what you've been looking for.
Because there's one sentence we've heard from customers again and again over the years:
"I've been looking for something like this for ages. I couldn't find it in Ireland."
That's exactly why Riverside Timber Craft matters.
Handmade in Ireland, for Irish Homes
Finding the right piece for your home shouldn't mean settling for something mass produced simply because it's the only size available.
Nor should finding a rustic shelf, substantial timber mantel or unusual piece of furniture necessarily mean ordering it from overseas.
At Riverside Timber Craft, we make pieces with character.
From our workshop in the West of Ireland, we create handmade wooden shelves, custom floating mantels, console tables, dining furniture and bespoke timber pieces for homes throughout Ireland.
Our current range includes everything from chunky rustic shelves with steel brackets to slimline floating shelving, made to measure fireplace mantels and narrow console tables.
Many of our pieces can be made in different sizes and finishes because Irish homes aren't all the same, and neither are the people living in them.
"Where Have You Been?"
There's a story behind Riverside being quiet for a while.
We didn't stop building.
In fact, quite the opposite.
The experience, craftsmanship and practical knowledge developed through years of working with timber helped take us into an entirely new area of manufacturing.
During Riverside's time away, much of our energy went into establishing and developing Irish Sauna Company.
Today, Irish Sauna Company designs and handcrafts commercial mobile saunas and outdoor wellness solutions from its manufacturing facility in Corr na Móna, County Galway.
It has been an enormous journey, but the fundamentals are surprisingly familiar.
Timber. Design. Fabrication. Problem solving. Building things properly. And creating something that starts as an idea and leaves the workshop as a finished product.
Riverside was part of that journey.
And now it's time to bring Riverside back.

The Products People Couldn't Find in Ireland
One of the things we remember most about Riverside customers wasn't simply what they bought.
It was what they said when they found us.
People would contact us after searching for a particular shelf, mantel or piece of furniture and tell us:
"I can't believe I found someone making these in Ireland."
That has stayed with us.
There are beautiful homes all over Ireland where the standard, mass produced option simply isn't right.
Maybe the alcove is an awkward width.
Maybe you want a chunky timber shelf rather than a lightweight imitation.
Maybe your fireplace needs a mantel that suits its proportions.
Maybe you need a narrow console table because a standard one overwhelms your hallway.
Or perhaps you've seen exactly what you want online, but can't find anyone making it here in Ireland.
That's where Riverside Timber Craft comes in.
Custom Floating Shelves Made in Ireland
Shelving sounds simple until you start looking for exactly the right shelf.
The length matters. The depth matters. The thickness matters. The brackets matter. And, perhaps more than anything, the timber itself matters.
Our range includes chunky floating shelves, rustic wall shelves with steel brackets and slimline floating shelving, with options designed to work across kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, offices, alcoves and feature walls.
Rather than designing your room around whatever shelf happens to be available, you can choose a piece that actually belongs in the space.
Custom Fireplace Mantels & Floating Mantels
A fireplace is often the natural focal point of a room.
The right timber mantel can completely change it.
Riverside specialises in custom fireplace mantels and floating mantel shelves made in Ireland, including made to measure designs and natural timber finishes.
Our existing range includes Douglas Fir mantels as well as other rustic and character-timber options, with made to measure products available for different fireplace dimensions.
Whether you're renovating an older Irish home, finishing a new build or simply trying to give a plain fireplace some warmth and character, we can help you find a piece that works with the room rather than against it.

Handmade Console Tables & Timber Furniture
Sometimes the hardest furniture to find is furniture for the awkward spaces.
A narrow hallway is a perfect example.
You want somewhere for keys, a lamp, flowers or photographs, but a conventional console table can simply be too deep.
That's why you'll also find narrow console tables and handmade timber furniture among the Riverside range, alongside dining tables, benches and other pieces.
And if the standard dimensions aren't right, talk to us.
Bespoke work has always been an important part of what Riverside does.
The Reviews We Never Forgot
One of the loveliest things about reopening Riverside has been coming back to the reviews left by our customers.
Those reviews represent real pieces of furniture sitting in real homes.
A shelf somebody measures every ornament against.
A mantel that became the centrepiece of a newly decorated room.
A table that's part of everyday family life.
And customers who trusted a small Irish business to make something for them.
We're incredibly proud of that history.
If you're discovering Riverside Timber Craft for the first time, don't just take our word for it.
That history matters to us because Riverside isn't starting from scratch.
We're returning.
Made Here. Made for You.
There's something special about knowing where something in your home came from.
Knowing it wasn't simply pulled from a warehouse containing thousands of identical pieces.
Knowing there were hands involved.
Measurements.
Cuts.
Sanding.
Finishing.
And somebody standing back in a workshop at the end and deciding, yes, that's ready to go to its new home.
That's what we want Riverside Timber Craft to be about again.
Handmade timber products. Made in Ireland. Made for real homes.
Riverside Timber Craft Is Back
So yes, the website is live again.
The workshop is open.
And we're taking orders.
Over the coming months we'll be bringing more products back, developing new designs and sharing more from behind the scenes.
If you've bought from Riverside before, thank you. Your support and your reviews are a big part of the reason we're excited to bring Riverside back.
And if you've just discovered us after typing something like "custom floating shelves Ireland", "fireplace mantels Ireland", "rustic shelves Ireland", "handmade furniture Ireland" or "made to measure furniture Ireland" into Google...
Welcome to Riverside Timber Craft.
Maybe we're what you've been looking for.
